How to Use these Vegetable Flashcards

The vegetable flashcards can be used in a few different ways. For younger children, you can use them as part of a matching game. To do this, simply print out two sets of the cards and lay them out face down. Take turns flipping over two cards at a time, looking for matches.

You can also use the cards to quiz your child on vegetable facts. Go through the deck of cards, asking your child questions about each vegetable. You can ask about the vegetable’s name, how to spell it, what it looks like, where it grows, what it tastes like, and anything else you can think of!

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  1. Use as a traditional matching, Memory-style game
  2. If your youngster can read, have him or her match the word to the correct vegetable. Just cut off the bottom of the flashcard with the word and match them together
  3. Sort the cards by beginning sound or beginning letter
  4. Sort the vegetables by color
  5. If you have these veggies at home, have your child match the card to the real vegetable.
  6. Use the words on the flashcards as spelling words
  7. Use the vegetables in a sentence.
