Alligator Cupcakes with Nutter Butter Cookies

Rainforest Birthday Party Ideas
Tools Needed
- mixing bowls
- fork or candy coating tools
- cupcake liners
- candy eyes
- piping bags with large cut tip
- piping bags with small cut tip
Ingredients Needed
- 1 box yellow cake mix + additional ingredients per instructions OR your favorite recipe
- Nutter Butter cookies, 1 per cupcake
- Blue buttercream frosting in a piping bag with a large cut tip
- Green & white buttercream frosting in a piping bag with a small cut tip
- 1 lb white chocolate
- Green oil-based food coloring
- Sugar decorating eyes, 2 per cupcake
- Black sugar sprinkles
How to Make Alligator Cupcakes
Step 1: Bake cupcakes per recipe and cool completely.
Step 2: Melt white chocolate, stirring until smooth.
Step 3: Add green oil based food coloring until desired shade is reached and stir until fully combined.
Step 4: Dip cookies in chocolate covering completely, shake off excess chocolate, and place on a wax paper lined tray.
Step 5: Allow to set in refrigerator.
Step 6: Use the blue frosting to pipe a smooth, flat swirl on each cupcake.
Step 7: Use the green frosting to attach 2 eyes on one end of the cookie as shown.
Step 8: Next add detail spots and a bump on the opposite end of the cookie.
Step 9: Add white teeth around the edges of the cookie.
Step 10: If desired use black sugar sprinkles to add depth.
Step 10: Place finished cookie on top of a cupcake and enjoy!

- Allow to set in refrigerator.
- Use the blue frosting to pipe a smooth, flat swirl on each cupcake.
- Use the green frosting to attach 2 eyes on one end of the cookie as shown.
- Next add detail spots and a bump on the opposite end of the cookie.
- If desired use black sugar sprinkles to add depth.
- Add white teeth around the edges of the cookie.
- Place finished alligator cookie on top of cupcake.
