When my kids were younger one of my favorite things to teach them was science. We loved nature study!
It was really interesting to learn how a chicken grows up and starts laying eggs. We even got to see some baby chicks at the farm where our eggs come from. My kids loved learning about chickens, and they were excited when we finally were able to get our own backyard chickens.
We finally saved up enough money to buy some chickens, and we were so excited! We set up their coop and watched them explore their new home. It was so much fun to watch them grow up and start laying eggs. The best part was when we got to eat the eggs that they laid!
What is the life cycle of a chicken?
The life cycle of a chicken begins with an egg. The egg is incubated for 21 days, and then it hatches into a chick. The chick grows into a juvenile chicken, and then an adult chicken. Adult chickens can lay eggs, which begin the cycle anew. Chickens live for five to ten years.
