What Kind of food coloring should I use?

To make your whoopie pies really stand out, buy gel food coloring instead of water-based food colors. While both have their benefits and disadvantages I recommend using the gel food colors (icing color) because it’s more intense which will give that deep red or blue you’re looking for!

How to Store these Patriotic Whoopie Pies

You can store these whoopie pies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
